Associate Minister
Purpose: Seeking a man with a love for the Lord to serve the ministries of Cornerstone Christian Church pertaining to the spiritual development of families with children in nursery, elementary, middle and high school. This position will utilize his unique gifts and talents to the glory of God, and offer opportunities for mentorship and growth in areas such as preaching, counseling, technology and other needs of the ministry.
Position Description: The Associate Minister will lead the team to help children of all ages develop spiritual maturity and walk faithfully in a relationship with God. He will ensure weekly planning, leading of classes, and organizing special events in cooperation with the overall ministries of Cornerstone Christian Church. This is a position of pastoral care that requires the fostering of relationships with youth and their families as well as the people who serve voluntarily in this ministry. The Associate Minister will report bi-weekly to the Lead Minister and monthly to the Elders of the church.
Required Qualifications:
He will be committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; actively involved in practices that will further a growing personal relationship with Him.
He will have achieved formal education/degree in Teaching, Preaching, Bible, or Theology.
He will have at least 1 year of experience working in youth and/or children’s ministries.
He will be committed to a team approach to ministry including delegating responsibilities to volunteers and/or family members.
He will be committed to moral purity and strong sense of personal integrity.
He will be committed to the mission and vision of Cornerstone Christian Church.
Desired Qualifications:
Competency in teaching, Biblical knowledge, theology and doctrine.
Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships – engage parents as vital partners.
Recruit, disciple and sustain a team of volunteer leaders.
Communicate well with parents and come along side families, especially in times of crisis.
Communicate well with church leaders and members.
Teach youth, leaders and volunteers in small and large group settings.
Relate to the unique needs of youth in current culture.
Be a team player with a positive attitude.
Learn and utilize technology for ministry needs.
Responsibilities:
Maintain an authentic and growing walk with Jesus Christ, setting an example for others by being connected to God, living differently than the world, and sharing Jesus with others.
Communicate in a timely and effective manner using available resources (social media, email, website, bulletin, newsletters, bulletin board, etc).
Attend staff meetings and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the vision of the church.
Develop and implement an education plan that will encourage the spiritual maturity of children in all age groups.
Introduce volunteer workers to opportunities for additional training provided by other ministries, books, and conferences.
Set annual goals that align with the vision of the church and evaluate how those goals were achieved or modified.
Expected full-time with at least 40 hour work week with a minimum compensation package of $46,000 including salary and benefits, but can be negotiated with Elders/Lead Minister based on prior work experience.

- Plan activities to build relationships, encourage service, and develop spiritual gifts
- Participate in conferences, retreats, and camps
- Oversee youth ministries budget, organization, and volunteers
- Ensure all volunteers have met church requirements and passed a background check
